I used to be prescribed Prevacid, which worked well. My insurance switched me to Prilosec and it works even better!
Anyone else have acid reflux? If so, what meds do you take?

I get really bad heart burn, which is maybe acid reflux; I've haven't been diagnosed. I use Pepcid AC before or after I eat and it generally works well. I also find it helps if I take it with milk rather than water, which is kind of a double-barrel approach.

Sometimes milk can cause problems too. Pepcid doesn't do much for me.
My collapsed lung felt like the worst heartburn imaginable. I thought it was heartburn for 3days! Ugh!

I don't have much trouble with heartburn, but have heard that apple cider vinegar is helpful.

I've heard milk actually makes things worse for some people, but I've found it to have a soothing effect as it coats the stomach. I'll have to give Prilosec a try, but Pepcid works fine for me thus far.
The worst times when I get heart burn is in the middle of the night or very early morning. Sometimes I'll wake up choking and gasping for air because the acid has come up far enough to affect my airway. I never used to get it this bad before I gained weight. Another reason to slim down.
As far as apple cider vinegar goes, I'd be leary of that remedy. Cirtric acid from fruit juices usually causes heart burn.

Milk is bad for lactose intolerant people. Vinegas is acidic but not sure how it affects heartburn. it doesn't bug my stomach. beer's high in acid..well, ya gotta stop drinking. lol
