Generously grease a 3 quart rectangular dish.
In small bowl beat (2) 3 oz. packages softened cream cheese, 2 Tb. orange marmalade, 1 tsp. finely chopped, crystallized ginger, and 1/4 tsp nutmeg. Stir in 1/4 cup chopped, toasted almonds.
Cut a pocket in each of (6) 1.5" slices french bread. Divide cream mix evenly among pockets.
Put slices in prepared dish. In second bowl combine 4 eggs, 1 cup milk, 1 tsp vanilla, and slowly pour over slices. Cover and chill overnight (or at least 4-6 hrs.)
Bake uncovered at 250 for 30-35 minutes.
Top with below orange sauce:
In a small pan cook 1/2 tsp. finely shredded orange peel, 1 1/4 cup orange juice, 2 Tb honey, 4 Tsp corn starch until thick and bubbly, then 2 minutes more.
Pour over and serve immediately.
